Mount Aventine and the Visitor's Center will be open every Sunday 1-4 pm beginning April 6 thru October 26. Special events are planned for at least one Sunday each month. Spend the evening of July 4 (Friday) with a picnic and enjoy neighboring fireworks from the promontory of Mount Aventine. On July 13, Elmer Biles, our popular history lecturer, will review the fascinating life of Countess Bessenyey, the last resident of Mount Aventine. Plans for September and October will be announced later. "Antebellum Christmas" will be held December 6 and 7, with extended hours as participants in the Second Charles County Holiday Trail. Special musical groups and other presentations will be held on occasional Sundays throughout the season. Watch the calendar for updates.
