The Mount Aventine 1840 manor house will be alive with costumes, fresh greens, period decorated Christmas trees, the scent of holiday refreshments, and sounds of holiday music throughout the house on Dec. 6 and 7, 11-5, when Antebellum Christmas is celebrated at Chapman State Park. Antique dolls and toys will also be displayed throughout the house. Sounds of recorders will fill the house when the duo "Rosewood" plays on Sat., Dec. 6, noon-2 p.m., followed by singing of the renowned McDonough High School , "The Madrigal Lords and Ladies" at 3:00. On Sunday, Dec. 7, at 1:30, the area's finest Hand Bell Choir from Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church will make its annual holiday visit. Gifts and baked goods will be available in the Visitors Center. Mount Aventine is one of the many county heritage sites on the weekend's 2014 Charles County Holiday Trail.
